The difference between an aroma diffuser and a humidifier

Both aroma diffusers and humidifiers are devices used to improve the indoor environment, but their functions and designs are different.

Aroma diffuser

Function: The aroma diffuser is mainly used to emit fragrances. It mixes essential oils with water through ultrasonic vibration and atomizes them to release aromatic molecules, achieving effects such as relaxation, sleep aid, and refreshing. It also has a certain humidifying effect.

Material: Usually, corrosion-resistant PP material is adopted, as essential oils may cause corrosion to ordinary plastics.

Mist output: The mist output is relatively small, with fine and uniform mist particles, approximately 30ml/h, which enables better diffusion of essential oil molecules.

Oscillation frequency: With a high oscillation frequency, water molecules can be atomized to the nanometer level, effectively dispersing essential oils.

Precautions for use: It is recommended to use pure water and special water-soluble essential oils, avoid adding other substances, and clean regularly to prevent clogging.

 

Humidifier

Function: The main function of a humidifier is to increase the humidity of indoor air, relieve dryness, make the respiratory tract more comfortable, and reduce problems such as throat and nose discomfort caused by dryness.

Material: Generally, ABS or AS plastic is used, which is not resistant to essential oil corrosion.

Mist output: The mist output is large, with relatively large and heavy particles, approximately 200-300ml/h.

Oscillation frequency: Low oscillation frequency cannot effectively decompose essential oils.

Precautions for use: Use pure water or cold boiled water, clean regularly, avoid continuous use for a long time to prevent bacterial growth.

 

 If you need to improve the indoor dryness problem, choose a humidifier.

If you wish to soothe your mood or improve your sleep quality through scents, choose an aroma diffuser.

If you need to achieve both humidification and aromatherapy functions at the same time, you may consider purchasing a humidifier or aromatherapy machine with aromatherapy functions.
